Baldwin grad Nakashima named WAC golfer of month

University of Idaho golfer Kelly Nakashima, a senior from Wailuku and Baldwin High School graduate, was named Western Athletic Conference golfer of the month, today.

Nakashima played in three tournaments in October with a 74.3 stroke average over nine rounds.

Her best finish last month came at the Price's Give 'Em Five Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M., where she placed third with a five-over 221, helping the Vandals finish second as a team. Nakashima tied for 14th at the Heather Farr Invitational in Broomfield, Colo., helping the Vandals finish third in the team standings.

She also tied for 41st at the UNLV Collegiate Showdown.
