Hawaii under flash flood watch until late Tuesday night

Advertiser Staff

The National Weather Service's forecast office in Honolulu this morning issued a statewide flash flood watch, which will be in effect until late Tuesday night.

Isolated heavy rain is possible this afternoon and tomorrow. More widespread heavy rain is likely to start Saturday night, according to a notice issued by the Weather Service.

A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Avoid camping or hiking near streams and low-lying flood-prone areas.

Be prepared to take action if flood advisories or flash flood warnings are issued.
