TAGAWA WILL GUEST ON NBC SERIES MONDAY

NBC's hit "Heroes" will have Hawai'i ties when Island resident Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa makes his second guest appearance on Monday. The show airs at 8 p.m. Mondays.

The Hawai'i-based actor plays the swordmaking, samurai-era father of Yaeko, a love interest for Hiro Nakamura, the time-traveling character played by Masi Oka.

"I like the idea that there's an Asian-American character (Nakamura) who's a hero in a regular TV series and speaking Japanese, on top of that," Tagawa said by phone from Los Angeles. ... "It's great to see that kind of change."

FINAL WORD

“This is a different era. Record companies don’t break bands anymore. Music is discovered through YouTube and MySpace. So why can’t this show be authentic?”
