Gov. Linda Lingle has released $2.5 million for ongoing improvements at 13 central district schools to comply with federal accessibility requirements.

The improvements include adding walkways, ramps, parking stalls and elevators.

The schools included in the project are: 'Aiea Elementary School, 'Aiea Intermediate School, Hickam Elementary School, 'Iliahi Elementary School, Makalapa Elementary School, Mokulele Elementary School, Pearl Harbor Elementary School, Pearlridge Elementary School, Salt Lake Elementary School, Shafter Elementary School, Solomon Elementary School, Wahiawa Middle School and Waimalu Elementary School.
