CFB: Booty back at QB for USC against Oregon State
By Bud Withers
Seattle Times
It can't happen too fast for a team only 3-2 in the Pac-10.
Even Booty's return from a finger injury is no guarantee of a return to USC's salad days.
Oregon State has national-best defensive figures in rushing defense (54.5) and sacks (34).
Mark Sanchez started for Booty and led the Trojans to victories over Arizona and Notre Dame. In his third shot, he threw two interceptions in a loss to Oregon.
Booty injured his finger in a loss to Stanford.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Daily News says USC coach Pete Carroll has discussed with first-year Pac-10 supervisor of officials Dave Cutaia a continuing discrepancy between USC and opponents.
The Trojans commit 74 yards of penalties per game against opponents' 43, and the newspaper says USC's opponents have been flagged the least of Pac-10 teams four successive years.
