Top-ranked Saint Louis managed to keep its focus in beating Kamehameha, 25-7, last night to conclude the Interscholastic League of Honolulu football regular season at Aloha Stadium.

The game had no relevance, as the Crusaders clinched the Division I title last week. The No. 5 Warriors (4-4-1 overall, 3-4 ILH) are done for the season in David Stant's first as head coach.

For the second consecutive season, the Crusaders (10-0, 7-0) ended the regular season undefeated. They have won 21 of their last 22; the only loss came in last year's state championship game.

The Crusaders are off until the state Division I semifinals on Nov. 24. It already had been determined that the ILH champion would receive a first-round bye. Saint Louis will play the winner of the Big Island champion against the O'ahu Interscholastic Association's runner-up.

Last night, Micah Mamiya completed 12 of 22 passes for 196 yards and one touchdown for Saint Louis.

The Warriors avoided being shut out when Michael Hoke hit Brandon DeMello on a 17-yard pass with 1:43 to play against the Saint Louis reserves.

Saint Louis began substituting early in the fourth quarter. Backup Jeremy Higgins took over for Mamiya with 9:15 to play.

The Crusaders wasted little time getting on the board. After forcing the Warriors to punt on their first series, the Crusaders took over at the Kamehameha 45 and needed just two plays to score with running back Austin Wakinekona bolting 11 yards up the middle. The PAT failed.

The Warriors had to punt on their next series, but the snap from punt formation sailed over the punter and rolled out of the end zone for a safety to make it 8-0.

The Crusaders added to their first-quarter scoring when another errant Kamehameha snap in punt formation resulted in a 21-yard loss to the Kamehameha 18. Saint Louis needed just two plays to score, this time on a 5-yard run by Keani Nishigaya that made it 15-0.

Saint Louis scored again 56 seconds before before the half with its longest drive of the night, using nine plays to travel 80 yards with Mamiya connecting with Ryan Iaea on a 32-yard TD pass to make it 22-0.

The Crusaders opened the second half with a 53-yard drive that was capped by Warren Spencer's 31-yard field goal that made it 25-0.
