Firefighters and police were called to 200 Hao St. in upper Aina Haina where a boulder crashed into a house at 2 a.m. today while a man was watching television.

The boulder crashed into a window and a hollow-tile wall. Residents said that part of the roof was damaged when the 4-foot wide boulder struck the rear of the house.

"Glass was sprayed everywhere," the resident said. "We're trying to put up a tarp on the roof to keep the rain from dripping into the house."

The area is often hit by rockfalls and unstable soil. No injuries were reported.
