McLachlin shoots 71, misses PGA's Top 125 list

Advertiser Staff

Honolulu's Parker McLachlin shot a 1-under-par 71 and finished tied for 26th today at the PGA Tour's Children's Miracle Network Classic, but failed to crack the top 125 in money earnings for the season.

The former UCLA golfer ranked 137th on the tour money list and needed to get to 125 to keep his full PGA-playing privileges. The top 150 are exempt to the final round of Qualifying School and have conditional status for next season (approximately 12 to 15 starts in PGA events).

McLachlin finished at 8-under 280 at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Stephen Ames shot a 68 to finish with a one-stroke victory at 271.

McLachlin earned $627,582 in 28 PGA Tour events during his rookie season. No. 125 Mathias Gronberg earned $785,180 in 31 tournaments. Ben Curtis was No. 126 with $772,321.

Kane'ohe native Dean Wilson finished 76th on the money list with $1,258,507 in 28 tournaments. He has been on the PGA Tour since 2003.
