Warriors drop two spots to No. 16 in BCS Standings

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawai'i football team dropped two spots to No. 16 in the Bowl Championship Series Standings released today.

The Warriors (8-0) were idle this week and play Fresno State Saturday at Aloha Stadium. Texas, which was No. 15, and Florida, which was 20th, moved ahead of UH in 14th and 15th place, respectively.

Ohio State remained No. 1, followed by LSU, Oregon, Kansas and Oklahoma. Boise State, UH's Western Athletic Conference rival, moved up two spots to No. 20.

The BCS standings are used at the end of the regular season to determine the matchups for the BCS games. The standings are calculated using the USA Today coaches poll, the Harris Interactive poll and six computer rankings.

Hawai'i is a member of the Western Athletic Conference, which is not a BCS conference. The Warriors need to finish in the top 12 of the final BCS standings in order to get an automatic berth to a marquee bowl game.
