St. Joseph grad Paakaula earns MAAC volleyball honors

Fairfield University senior libero Jazmin Pa'akaula, a St. Joseph High School graduate from Hilo, was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference volleyball defensive player of the week today.Pa'akaula had 39 digs in wins over Manhattan and Iona — 25 of which coming against Manhattan yesterday.
Against Manhattan, teammate Lindsey Lee, also a St. Joseph graduate, became the school's career leader in digs with 1,623. Pa'akaula is third on the career list with 1,500.
Fairfield is 18-10 on the season and 15-1 in conference play.
