High-tech group helps small businesses win grants

The High Technology Development Corp. will hold a series of conferences next week to show small businesses how to compete for more than $2 billion in research and development grants.

The grants are awarded through the federal Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer Research programs. Recent recipients of federal grants include Oceanit, Hawai'i Biotech, Trex Hawai'i and Kona Blue Water Farms.

The conferences begin at 7:30 a.m. each day. The schedule is as follows:

  • Nov. 13, Sheraton Waikiki Hotel.

  • Nov. 14, Wailea Beach Marriott Hotel on Maui.

  • Nov. 15, Hilton Kaua'i Beach Resort.

  • Nov. 16, Waikoloa Beach Marriott on the Big Island.
