'Lion King' cast members visit Iolani School

Members of Disney's "The Lion King" cast, including local girl Charlaine Katsuyoshi, who portrays a cheetah in the hit musical now at Blaisdell Concert Hall, will visit 'Iolani School from 11:50 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7.Katsuyoshi is a 1994 graduate of 'Iolani and will share her experience and performance with the students. She will be joined by dance captain Jose Silva, musician Bob Garrett, "Timon" John Gardiner, "Pumbaa" Bob Amaral, "Simba" Clifton Oliver, "young Simbas" Nicholas Ashe and Trevor Jackson, and "young Nalas" Diamond Curvy and Jamani Epps.
The visitors will lead students in grades 4 through 6 through a dance movement with drum accompaniment in the Upper School Dance Room. Then the cast moves to Seto Hall, where a demonstration will be presented for an audience in grades K-12.
