Big City Diners joins Rewards Network

News Release

CHICAGO — Rewards Network, the restaurant industry's leading resource for dining frequency programs, marketing services and business intelligence, today announced that a fifth Big City Diner has joined the program.

Founded and owned by restaurateur Lane Muraoka, Big City Diner is one of O'ahu's most popular, locally owned restaurant groups. Offering an extensive, all-day menu of American and Hawaiian-style favorites, Big City Diner's made-to-order freshness, generous portions and affordable pricing make it a top choice among residents and tourists alike.

Lane Muraoka signed his first contract with Rewards Network over six years ago. Since then, his diner concept has taken off, and he credits Rewards Network for helping generate the traffic that has fueled Big City's expansion. Said Muraoka, "In this business, competition is fierce. Being part of a dining program that offers rewards is a great way to appeal to both local and out-of-town customers. Many locals choose to receive their Rewards Network rewards in frequent flyer miles and then use their miles to get to the mainland. Tourists use their miles to get to Hawai'i. And the volume of weekly Rewards Network transactions proves the dining incentives work."

Added Rewards Network President and CEO Ron Blake, "Our members actively participate in our program by dining at participating restaurants, bars and clubs where they'll earn maximum rewards. Last year alone we awarded 1.3 billion frequent flyer miles, as well as 50 million rewards program points, $4.5 million in Cashback RewardsSM savings, and $4.2 million in college savings rewards. That represents more than $6 billion in credit card sales at restaurants in the Rewards Network."
