Drowning suspected in Big Island death

A man found floating face down in shallow water at Kahalu'u Beach on the Big Island yesterday afternoon is believed to have drowned.Medics from the Big Island fire department responded to a possible drowning call shortly after noon yesterday and were on the scene within five minutes.
When rescue arrived, lifeguards had an unconscious male on a rescue board on the north end of the beach and were performing CPR but couldn't revive him.
Preliminary reports are that the man died of cardiac arrest from a possible drowning.
The victim's identity was unknown as of last night.
