Pipe break leaves Moanalua without water

Some residents of Moanalua Valley are without running water this evening because a 12-inch water main broke about 3 p.m. at 1445 Ala Aolani St., the Honolulu Board of Water Supply reported.A water wagon has been stationed at Ala Aoloa Place to provide water for residents. A second water wagon is roving in the area. If residents need water and cannot go to the wagon on Ala Aoloa Street, they should call the agency at 748-5010.
About 500 homes above Moanalua Golf Course have little or no water pressure. Kaiser Moanalua Medical Center is not affected. Repair work is expected to last through the evening.
Special duty police officers are directing traffic at the site.
