Trades, drier weather should be back by Thursday

An area of lower pressure southwest of Kauai will continue to weaken and move slowly southwest away from the state, according to the National Weather Service.

A high pressure area building north of Hawaii will bring a return to drier trade wind weather by Thursday, forecasters said.

Here's a closer look at the next few days:

i Today, isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 81. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

i Tonight, scattered showers, mainly after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 75. East wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

i Thursday, isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 81. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

i Thursday night, isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. East wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

i Friday, isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 82. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
