Water main break closes Hawaii school

Fern Elementary School on Middle Street in Kalihi is closed today due to a broken water main.Board of Water Supply crews today are working to repair a 12-inch main break at 1121 Middle street, fronting Fern Elementary. The school is without water while repairs are under way.
One lane of traffic in each direction of Middle Street is closed and special duty officers are on scene directing
traffic. The break was initially reported at about 1 am.
There was no immediate estimate on how long it will take to repair the waterline.
