HAWAII BRIEFS
$45M foreign-arrival corridor due late 2008

Advertiser Staff

Construction of a $45 million corridor for foreign arrivals on the third level of the 'ewa concourse at Honolulu International Airport will start this month.

Gov. Linda Lingle released $8.5 million for the project this week, which will be coupled with $26.6 million in previously allotted state money. The federal government is pitching in $10 million for the project, scheduled to be completed in November 2008.

The air-conditioned corridor will connect Gates 26 to 34 to the International Arrivals Building, and feature a moving sidewalk and surveillance cameras. The project will replace the Wiki-Wiki buses.
