Talib Kweli returns for Pipeline Cafe show Nov. 24

Advertiser Staff

Conscious hip-hop emcee Talib Kweli is returning to Honolulu for a Pipeline Cafe concert on Nov. 24.

Tickets are $30 pre-sale, and available at www.presaleticketsonline.com" target="_blank">www.presaleticketsonline.com, Dig Lifestyles Ward Warehouse, Fitted Hawaii, Jelly's and Pipeline Cafe.

Doors for the show open at 9:30 p.m.; 18 and over only.

Kweli — like his peer in intelligent, politically charged flow and former Black Star partner, Mos Def — has been a semi-frequent Oahu visitor for shows in recent years. Mos Def is performing a concert Sunday evening at Pipeline Cafe that will be recorded for future DVD release.

Kweli's most recent CD is "Eardrum," released in August, featured beats by another former Black Star partner DJ Hi-Tek, Kanye West and wll.i.am, and guest vocals by Norah Jones and Justin Timberlake. "Eardrum" entered the Billboard Top 200 album chart at no. 2 that month, making it Kweli's highest debut ever.

Tickets for Mos Def's Sunday concert are still available at www.presaleticketsonline.com" target="_blank">www.presaleticketsonline.com
