Rainbows advance to WAC soccer final with 2-OT win

Koren Takeyama scored in the second overtime to lift Hawai'i to the Western Athletic Conference tournament final with 1-0 win over Utah State today at Boise, Idaho.

Takeyama, a senior from Wailuku, Maui, lofted the ball into the corner of the net from just outside the left wing of the goalie box.

Hawai'i advances to Sunday's championship match against Fresno State. The Bulldogs defeated Boise State, 4-1, in the other semifinal. The winner receives an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.

The Rainbow Wahine will compete in its second WAC Tournament championship game and vie for their first tournament title.
