Frankie Quinabo's first wedding ring was modest; her husband was still in college and couldn't afford much more than a band. As soon as he was hired for his first job, he took her right down and bought a half-carat diamond.

"When he made a year with the company, he traded in my diamond and got me a three-quarter carat," she wrote. "Then in 1995, when we celebrated our fifth anniversary, he again bought me a new diamond."

Over the years, he's upsized the diamond, with the smaller ones made into a necklace.

"He can add or change my diamond as much as he wants, but I won't let him change my band," she wrote. "The band means a lot to me. That is what he could afford when we got married, but all the diamonds stand for what he can afford to buy me now."
