HALE'IWA
Surf forecast promising for Triple Crown start

Advertiser Staff

If a swell prediction holds for 10- to 12-foot wave faces on the North Shore, the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing could begin Monday with the Reef Hawaiian Pro at Hale'iwa's Ali'i Beach Park.

The event, for men and women, has a 13-day holding period, meaning it must be completed within that time, which starts on Monday.

The holding period for the second leg of the triple crown, the O'Neill World Cup of Surfing for men and Roxy Pro for women at Sunset Beach, is from Nov. 25 to Dec. 6.

The third segment, the Billabong Pipeline Masters for men at Pipeline and the women's Billabong Pro Maui at Honolua Bay on Maui, will be from Dec. 8 to Dec. 20.
