Warriors remain No. 16 in BCS Standings

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawai'i football team remained No. 16 in the Bowl Championship Series standings released today.

The Warriors (9-0) beat Fresno State, 37-30, Saturday and play at Nevada on Friday.

LSU is No. 1, followed by Oregon, Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. Boise State, a member of the Western Athletic Conference along with UH, moved up two spots to No. 18.

The Warriors and Jayhawks (10-0) are the only two unbeatens remaining in major college football.

The BCS standings are used at the end of the regular season to determine the matchups for the BCS games. The standings are calculated using the USA Today coaches poll, the Harris Interactive poll and six computer rankings.

Because the WAC is not a BCS conference, the Warriors need to finish in the top 12 of the final BCS standings in order to get an automatic berth to a marquee bowl game.
