Colt Brennan insists he's fine and wants to play - video

Advertiser Staff

University of Hawai'i quarterback Colt Brennan said again today that he feels fine and wants to play Friday in a nationally televised game against Nevada.

Brennan, who suffered a concussion after taking a jarring tackle from Fresno State linebacker Marcus Riley in Saturday's 37-30 win, did not practice today.

He was on the field among his teammates during today's practice at the UH field.

Brennan has been told he also will be held out of tomorrow's practice and will be evaluated tomorrow night.

He said UH head coach June Jones and the team's athletic trainers will decide whether he will play in Reno, Nev., on Friday.

Brennan passed for 396 yards and two touchdowns — tying the NCAA record for career touchdowns at 121 — before suffering the injury with more than 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Hawai'i is 9-0, its best start since 1925, and is ranked No. 16 in the Bowl Championship Series standings.
