Reopening gala for Bishop Museum's Shop Pacifica

Advertiser Staff

Shop Pacifica at Bishop Museum will holds its grand reopening celebration Saturday, with a day full of free activities for the family, including entertainment, book readings and craft demonstrations.

The event will start at 9 a.m.

The first 100 customers will get a free 2008 Bishop Museum calendar.

Shop Pacifica closed in June for a major remodeling project, which included new flooring, upgraded fixtures and a new product mix.

The store is known for its wide selection of books about Hawaiian and Polynesian history and culture, and as the major outlet for Bishop Museum Press. The shop also has one-of-a-kind items made by local crafters.

For more information, call the shop at 847-3511 or go to www.bishopmuseum.org.
