Kauai expanding bus service over holidays

Advertiser Staff

Late-night holiday bus routes will be offered on The Kaua'i Bus every Friday from Nov. 23 to Dec. 28, the county of Kaua'i announced yesterday.

"Based on feedback we've gotten from the community about previous years, we decided to increase our hours of operation on Friday nights during the holidays again," Janine Rapozo, executive on transportation said in a released statement.

Starting next week on Friday nights, Kaua'i residents can catch a late-night north-bound bus that leaves Kukui Grove Center at 9 p.m. stops at Wal-Mart at 9:10 p.m. and continues on to the Hanalei Courthouse.

Another option will be to take a late-night west-bound bus that leaves Wal-Mart at 9 p.m., stops at Kukui Grove Center at 9:10 p.m., with the final destination being about two blocks from the Kekaha Neighborhood Center.

Special pickups can be arranged at any regular bus stop along either route by calling The Kaua'i Bus at 808-241-6410 before 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
