U.S. attorney earns Visitor Aloha Society Hawaii award

Advertiser Staff

The United States Attorney's Office for Hawaii announced yesterday that U.S. Attorney Ed Kubo has received this year's Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii Outstanding Community Service Award.

Kubo earned the award for his partnership with VASH in promoting their mission, prosecuting those who would prey on visitors, assisting victims who are visitors to our islands, and for his help in co-chairing VASH's statewide conference, a news release from the attorney's office stated.

VASH aids visitors who are victims of a crime or other adversities while in Hawai'i. It also has a hospital visitation program and a bereavement program to assist visitors in crisis. All of their services are complimentary.
