No Hawaii tsunami threat from second Chile quake

A 6.8 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of northern Chile this morning, the second consecutive day for a major quake in the area.The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami is not expected and there is no tsunami threat to Hawai'i. The quake occurred at 5:36 a.m. Hawai'i time, 22.8 miles south and 70.4 miles west of the northern Chile coast.
The same area was hit by a 7.7 magnitude earthquake yesterday that killed two people, damaged 4,000 houses and left 15,000 people homeless.
