Maui County honors its outstanding employees

Maui County recently honored top employees at its annual recognition events.

Water treatment operator David Haddock was named employee of the year for Maui, while police officer Sepulona Falealii and police department clerk-typist Tessie Morimoto were given the same honor for Moloka'i and Lana'i, respectively.

Landfill worksite supervisor Michael Souza, of the Department of Environmental Management, shared manager of the year honors with planner Francis Cerizo of the Department of Planning.

The Kaunoa Senior Services Leisure Section, part of the Department of Housing and Human Concerns, was picked team of the year for the staff's overall performance. Members are Ce Suzuki, Ruth Griffith, Stacey Shibao, Kathy Ramos, Clarice Holmes, Lana Queddeng, Maggie Masicampo, Renee Yassop, Cynthia Arakawa, Renee Gaines, Danielle Prieto, Jerry Tumacder, Ron Kono and Rizal Acosta.
