The deadline to apply to serve on the Board of Education's Charter School Review Panel is Monday, the BOE said yesterday.

The 12-member panel is statutorily authorized with the power to issue charters, oversee and monitor charter schools, hold charter schools accountable for their performance, and revoke charters, the BOE said in a news release.

Applicants are needed for the following panel positions:

  • A representative from the University of Hawai'i who, according to statute, is not affiliated with any charter schools

  • An educational officer at a conversion charter school

  • A start-up charter school teacher

Applicants must submit a letter of interest and resume to be received by Monday to:
