Advertiser Staff

An 85-year-old Honolulu man struck by a car while crossing Kalaniana'ole Highway Thursday has died, according to the medical examiner.

Charles K. Ma, 85, had been crossing in a crosswalk in Wai'alae Iki when he was struck by an 82-year-old woman driving a 2003 Saturn station wagon in the center west-bound lane.

The driver was not injured, but Ma suffered injuries to his head, torso and legs. He was struck at 10:54 a.m.

This is Honolulu's 17th pedestrian fatality this year.
