NFL: Cardinals activate Adams, release Schobel

Associated Press

TEMPE, Ariz. — The Arizona Cardinals placed cornerback Michael Adams on the active roster and released defensive end Bo Schobel today.

Adams was an undrafted rookie free agent when he signed with the Cardinals in April. He attended Louisiana-Lafayette, where he had 40 tackles, one interception and one sack in 10 games last season.

Adams spent training camp with the Cardinals but was released in the final roster cut, then re-signed to the practice squad.

Schobel was just signed to a contract on Tuesday. He played in 14 regular-season games for the Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts last season. He also appeared in two postseason contests, including the Super Bowl.

He was released by the Colts in their final roster cut on Sept. 2. Schobel, a cousin of Pro Bowl defensive end Aaron Schobel of the Buffalo Bills, was a fourth-round draft pick by Tennessee out of TCU in 2004.
