Makiki man charged with baseball bat threat

Advertiser Staff

Prosecutors have charged a man with threatening to strike a former roommate with two aluminum baseball bats in Makiki.

James C. Graffis, 47, of a Dole Street address, was charged Saturday at 1:15 p.m. with first-degree terroristic threatening. His bail is $50,000 pending an initial appearance tomorrow at District Court.

Graffis is accused of threatening a 39-year-old man who had gone to the Dole Street apartment Friday night to collect personal items because he is moving out of the unit.

The victim was allegedly confronted by Graffis, who was armed with the aluminum bats, and chased onto nearby Spreckels Street.

A neighbor intervened on Spreckels Street after calling police. Graffis was arrested at 10:55 p.m.
