Hawaii index drops as Dow falls on bank concerns

The Bloomberg-Honolulu Advertiser Hawai'i Index followed broader market indexes in declining today.

The 11-member stock index fell 1.38 points to 91.80 as the Dow Jones Industrial average fell on concerns about bank stocks. Eight issues in the local index fell, one gained and two were unchanged.

Leading the decliners was Bank of Hawaii, which was off $1.27, or 2.5 percent, to $49.38.

Among other local stocks that fell, Alexander & Baldwin was down 84 cents a share, or 1.7 percent, to $48.71.
