Pothole work closing lanes on H-1 airport viaduct

Advertiser Staff

Three east-bound lanes on the H-1 Freeway Airport Viaduct will be closed daily from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. today to Wednesday for pothole repair.

The roadwork is part of a $9.1 million project to fill potholes along a three-mile stretch of the H-1 Freeway Airport Viaduct between Middle and Valkenburgh streets.

Crews will use a fast-forming concrete to fill in the potholes.

To minimize vibrations along the viaduct while the concrete cures, the speed limit near the repair area will be reduced to 15 mph while crews are working.

Special-duty officers will be on site to enforce the speed limit.

East-bound motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work area and allow for extra travel time.
