UH inaugurating chancellor, celebrating centennial

Virginia Hinshaw will be inaugurated as chancellor of the University of Hawai'i at the Manoa campus today.

The University of Hawai'i at Manoa is celebrating its centennial today and also the inauguration of Virginia Hinshaw as chancellor in a special ceremony that will include Hawaiian hula and oli and presentation of ceremonial gifts.

It takes place at 3 p.m. in the Kennedy Theatre, 1770 East-West Road

Gov. Linda Lingle and UH President David McClain will be taking part in the ceremony, which will be followed by a reception at the Hawaii Imin International Conference Center at the East-West Center at approximately 4:30 p.m.
