Lutheran church hosts World AIDS Day events, quilt

World AIDS Day, held Dec. 1, will be hosted here by the Lutheran Church of Honolulu in collaboration with The NAMES Project Foundation, Hawaii Islands Chapter.

As part of the 19th Annual International World AIDS Day and in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, sections of the AIDS Memorial Quilt on display all day.

Other events include a service at 10 a.m. led by the Rev. Jeff Lilley; displays, a 5 p.m. performance by the Hawaii Vocal Arts Ensemble and at 6 p.m., by St. Mark's Saintly Singers; a sunset candlelighting vigil and a reading of names at 7 p.m.

On Dec. 2, the display of the AIDS Memorial Quilt will be open during Sunday services.
