WAIPAHU
Festival Marketplace to hold grand opening today

Advertiser Staff

The Waipahu Festival Marketplace will hold its grand opening from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today.

The formal program will begin at 10:30 and will include remarks by Mayor Mufi Hannemann and U.S. Rep. Neil Abercrombie, D-Hawai'i.

There will also be entertainment, including musical duo Gay and Randy Hongo, and the oldies group Way Back When.

Prizes from vendors within the marketplace will also be given away at the venue, which opened last month at the former Big Way Supermarket on Waipahu Depot Road.

The marketplace was developed by the Waipahu Community Association to attract both visitors and West O'ahu residents to the once-bustling plantation town.
