Kim, Kono advance to match play at Polo Golf Junior

Kimberly Kim shot a 1-over-par 73 today but remained tied for the lead and Stephanie Kono shot a 67 to finish tied for fourth after the second round of stroke play at the Polo Golf Junior Classic at Ginn Reunion Resort's Palmer Course in Reunion, Fla.

Kim, a former Big Island resident now living in Arizona, is at 4-under 140 with Vicky Hurst (68) and Danielle Frasier (71). Kim started the day with a two-shot lead.

Kono, a Punahou senior who had the low round today, was tied for fourth with three others at 143.

The top 32 players advance to tomorrow's first round of match play. The second round also will be played tomorrow. The quarterfinals and semifinals are scheduled for Thursday and the final on Friday.
