High-surf advisory for Hawaii's north, east shores

Advertiser Staff

A high-surf advisory for north- and east-facing shores of O'ahu, Kaua'i, Maui, Moloka'i, Ni'iahu and the Big Island remains in effect until 4 p.m. today, the National Weather Service said.

A north to northeast swell is continuing to produce rough, advisory-level surf that will reach 12 feet to 15 feet along north-facing shores and 6 feet to 8 feet along east-facing shores.

Surf along west shores will be 2 feet to 4 feet today but increase to 6 feet to 8 feet by this evening. South shores will see surf 3 feet or less.
