Complex Solutions Inc., a Kailua-based firm that recently won a $92 million contract with the Center for Civil Military Relations, has been acquired by Camber Corp., a company that provides training and education to government and commercial customers internationally.

"Combining Camber with CSI is a win-win for our customers and our companies. Joining multi-disciplinary international planning with joint operational and tactical training will position us to help our customers deal with diverse training audiences in increasingly complex contingencies, including joint operations, post-conflict practices, and international relief efforts," said Walter Batson, chief executive officer of Huntsville, Alabama-based Camber, said in a press statement.

"We're especially encouraged by this acquisition as we believe our combined strengths constitute a depth of operational and technical experience absolutely vital to the security of our nation and the customers both Camber and CSI serve."

Complex Solutions works with military and civilian planners to create education and training programs that it says address the challenges of peace support operations, combating terrorism as well as disaster mitigation and relief.

"We have long standing partnerships with key leaders in international organizations in over 25 nations," said CSI Chairman John Otte in a news release announcing the deal.

"We're excited to be joining the Camber team for two reasons. First, our combined skills and capacities will dramatically enhance our ability to support our customers across the spectrum of operations in the pursuit of peace.

"Second, being a member of the Camber family will significantly improve the opportunities for our employees to grow and expand their personal careers in a diverse and dynamic company like Camber."

Camber said it provides education, training, acquisition management and engineering solutions to defense audiences around the world.
