Workshops to focus on living 'green'

The Green House, 224 Pakohana St. in Pauoa Valley, is offering these four workshops, all slated for Dec. 1:

-- Cooking with Kathy, 9 a.m to noon: A whole foods approach with personal chef Kathy Maddox, also a macrobiotic cooking instructor. She'll demonstrate the steps in preparing delicious "guilt free" holiday dishes; $25, class size limited to 10.

-- It's Raining, It's Pouring ... Make a Rain Barrel Catchment System, 10 a.m. to noon: Environmental engineer Jeremai Cann demonstrates how to make a rain barrel catchment system; Fee $15.

-- Lotions with Laura, 1:30-3:30 p.m.: Herbalist Laura Weiss will teach how to make and use all-natural healing body creams and medicinal herbal infused oils; $15.

-- From Showers to Flowers: Water Catchment Gardening

Learn ways of water cycling with permaculture designer, Hunter Heaivilin.; $15.
