Pedestrian accident closes section of North School Street

North School Street is closed to traffic in both directions between Aupuni to Pohaku streets tonight due to a pedestrian accident investigation.The roadway was closed at about 8:30 p.m.
The male pedestrian was taken in critical condition to The Queen's Medical Center but later upgraded to serious condition, police said.
Traffic Division Capt. Evan Ching said the man was struck by a two-door sedan headed east on North School Street at 8:28 p.m.
The man appears to have been outside a crosswalk when struck.
