'Operation: Aloha' feast to be served in Haleiwa

Advertiser Staff

The North Shore community and the U.S. Navy are teaming up for the annual "Operation: Aloha" to provide a Thanksgiving Day feast for the area's homeless and needy.

North Shore businesses, churches and individuals have donated more than 40 turkeys to feed an estimated 400-plus diners. The turkeys will be roasted compliments of Chef Hector Morales at the Turtle Bay Resort.

The U.S. Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station, Pacific (NCTAMS PAC) volunteers will provide the festive decorations and serve meals from 10 a.m. to noon at the Waialua Community Association building.

The annual event is held at the historic Waialua Community Association building on Kamehameha Highway in Hale'iwa across from the Hale'iwa Post Office.

For more information, contact Operation: Aloha community coordinator and Once A Month Church Pastor Ron Valenciana, 342-3969.
