Adam Jespersen, a 6-foot-7 forward from Canada, fulfilled his verbal commitment by signing a letter of intent today to play for the University of Hawai'i men's basketball team.

Jespersen will have four years of eligibility starting with the 2008-09 season.

"We're very excited to sign another international recruit," Hawai'i head coach Bob Nash said. "We've had a good history with Canadian players and we feel confident Adam will continue that tradition. He's a very skilled player and has exactly what we're looking for with our new emphasis on an up-tempo game."

Jespersen, who is in his final year at H.B. Beal Secondary School in London, Ontario, Canada, averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds last season.

He is also on Canada's junior national development team and is rated the top senior forward in Ontario by TheHoopla.com.

Jespersen is the only recruit to sign with Hawai'i during the early-signing period, which ended today. He committed to play for Hawai'i during the summer.
