WAI'ANAE
90-unit Christmas parade begins at 10 a.m. Saturday

The Wai'anae Coast Community Christmas Parade — one of the region's most popular annual events — will kick off at 10 a.m. Saturday, beginning at the Wai'anae Boat Harbor and continuing along Farrington Highway to Wai'anae Mall.

This year's parade, again sponsored by the Wai'anae Coast Rotary, will feature up to 90 units, with floats, bands and fancy vehicles.

"All proceeds from entry fees, sponsorships, etc., go to the Wai'anae Coast Rotary Club Community Foundation, where monies raised are returned to the community in the form of grants or donations to various organizations and groups throughout the year," said Rotary spokesman Fred Weick.

Following the parade, there will be a ho'olaulea festival in the parking lot of the mall, highlighted by food and craft booths, entertainment, games, prizes, displays and other surprises.
