A 50-year-old Kapahi woman died after falling over a cliff behind her home on Kahuna Road, Kaua'i County officials said.

Linda Lemke was reported missing Monday evening at around 7:12 p.m. Patrol officers responded and conducted an initial search in Kapahi in areas frequented by Lemke.

Detectives were called to the scene at around 10:30 p.m. to assist with the search.

At daybreak Tuesday, the victim's husband set out to find her in an area that was not accessible at night and located her body at the bottom of a 100-foot cliff behind her home.

Rescue specialists from the Lihu'e fire station and detectives arrived at the scene shortly after the victim was found. The victim was lifted out of the area and taken to Wilcox Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police are continuing their investigation. No foul play is suspected. An autopsy is being conducted.
