KIHEI
Audience invited to join in on Handel's 'Messiah'

Advertiser Staff

A "Sing-It-Yourself Messiah" will be presented by the Maui Choral Arts Association at 7 p.m. Nov. 30 at Saint Theresa Church in Kihei.

The audience will be invited to join in the choruses from George Frederic Handel's "Messiah," with solos by Vania Lee Jerome, Debra Lynn and Bob Wills, and accompaniment from an eight-piece chamber ensemble. Music scores will be available at the door.

The event will launch the association's fifth anniversary season, titled "Music in Poetry, Poetry in Music," and sponsored by Kristin Holmes of Swan Interiors.

The performance is dedicated to longtime Maui Choral Arts Association supporter Liz Janes-Brown, who died in July of breast cancer, and her husband, Paul Janes-Brown.

Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door, with half-price admission for those 18 years old and younger. To purchase tickets or for more information, call 808-870-5560 or e-mail mauichoralarts@hawaii.rr.com.
