Four craft shows at, around Blaisdell this weekend

Shopping, anyone? Park once, shop a lot at or near that people magnet called Blaisdell Center. For your consideration:

  • The Islandwide Christmas Crafts & Food Expo attracts thousands of shoppers with its huge array of gift ideas. 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Blaisdell Exhibition Hall and Arena. Admission is $4 general, $2 military, those 65 and older, free for youngsters 12 and younger. 623-4050.

  • A block away is the World Art Bazaar, featuring items from around the world. 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, continues 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 9 at the Academy Art Center at Linekona. Admission is free. 532-8704.

  • Near the bazaar is the Impressions print sale for the arts-inclined. Find etchings, lithographs, screenprints and woodcuts by local artists. 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Academy Art Center at Linekona. Admission is free. 536-5507.

  • Maybe you'll want to walk a bit to the Mission Houses Museum, where the annual Holiday Craft Fair features lauhala-weaving demonstrations, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free. 531-8104, ext. 714..

    Attention, cookbook fans: Copies of The Honolulu Advertiser's wildly popular anniversary cookbook, "The Island Plate," will be available.
