Ronson Fox, a 16-year-old Hanalani Schools junior, will serve as one of 30 pages in the U.S. Senate during the spring.

Fox was appointed by U.S. Sen. Daniel Akaka, D-Hawai'i.

He will live and work in Washington, D.C., from February to mid-June.

Fox is an honor roll student at Hanalani. He is also on the principal's list and was the school's student of the month in August.

In his application, Fox said he wants to learn more about politics, experience life on the Mainland and "to bring some Hawaiian culture into the dorms."
